Gaṇeśā, his name meaning ‘Lord of the People,’ represents wisdom, new beginnings and the removal of all obstacles. The ultimate removal is the veil of misperception which keeps us living in separation - forgetting our true nature. He is also invoked at the start of ceremony and puja to will success and good luck.
