Sarasvatī - the Sankrit word sarasvatī means ‘related to a river’ or ‘she who possesses a body of water.’ She is the bestower of wisdom, Goddess of pure knowledge and embodiment of Divine Creation.  Her name flows from 'saras' — water, symbolising the fluid, nourishing essence of insight. Often seen on a lotus or riding a swan, playing the veena, she embodies the harmony, rhythm of the cosmos and the power of creative expression.
